Watch out Morgan Hill – Live Oak High School in back in session and is full of crazy nuts. As always, summer was too short but I am sure by the first day of school on Aug. 29, everybody was excited to see their friends and favorite teachers again each day.Â
Thursday, Aug. 25 marked the start of high school for our incoming freshmen as there was a freshmen orientation put on by the members of the Live Oak Associated Student Body. It was opened with a welcome note from this year’s ASB president, Allyson Yamashita, and continued with a speaker, fashion show, and a tour of the campus. The feedback received was very positive and it seems that it was a tremendous success. On Saturday, the seniors of ASB set out to the Live Oak student parking lot to paint the 175 names of the seniors that reserved a senior parking spot for the 2005-06 school year. That weekend was also designated for those seniors to decorate their spot to their liking. Then for the final hurrah of summer, an ice cream social was held for this year’s seniors in the student parking lot to meet up with friends and decorate cars for the next morning’s annual parade from Safeway to Live Oak.
The first week of actual classes proved to be just the normal hustle and bustle and was ended on a perfect note with a win for our football team over Silver Creek by a score of 35-10. Live Oak also held its first rally this Friday to get ready for this fall’s sports and an introduction to the campus’ clubs.
That sums it up for the news of the nuts so far this school year. Come out and support our football boys next Friday, Sept. 16, at 7:30pm versus Alisal. Go nuts!
