Leo Frederick Duffin, CPA (58) of Sausalito, son to the late Helen and George Duffin, beloved brother to Patricia and Katherine Duffin (DeWitt), favorite uncle to Nathan and Laura (DeWitt) and loyal friend to many passed away in his home on June 26, 2012, due to complications with his heart.
Originally from Gilroy, CA, Fred graduated Cum Laude from UC Berkley and made the Bay Area his home for more than 35 years. He was Partner at Provident Financial Management for over 20 years, working closely with and managing the finances of many Bay Area music celebrities, including members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He retired in 2005.
While Fred enjoyed his privacy, those who knew him well, knew him to be caring, compassionate and generous in deed and spirit. An avid golfer, world traveler, Giants fan, racing and automotive enthusiast and gourmand, Fred relished in life’s little luxuries, never taking himself too seriously.
Well-informed if not always well-mannered, Fred was sharp, sweet and savvy. He will be sorely missed.
A Private memorial will be held following cremation at Mount Tamalpais Mortuary in San Rafael. A public celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations can be made in Fred’s name to Project Open Hand, www.openhand.org.
