At the age of 91, Juven Ortiz left this world peacefully surrounded by his loving famly. He is survived by his daughters Cristina (James) Martinez, Kylan, Sydney, Zoe, and Aubrey Martinez, Catalina (Dennis) Lemos, Morgan, Sofia, and Laci Lemos, Carina ( Rob) Freeman, Chase and Faith Freeman, his son Michael Ortiz, daughters Martha McKim and Rose Ortiz, and son Rick Ortiz. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Ortiz, Ruben Ortega, and Jess Ortega and his sister Mercedes Torres as well as a large extended family here and in Mexico.

 He was preceded in death by his son Juventino Ortiz, Jr., his wife Connie Lee Ortiz, and his older brother Joe Ortiz. He was the son of Arcadio and Maria Luisa Ortiz. He was born in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico.

 He came to Hollister, CA in 1945 as a Bracero. He arrived at the San Benito County Labor Camp and within 5 years became the Manager. He maintained that position for over 30 years (1950-1981). He was very involved in the community and participated in a variety of organizations such as the Elks, The Knights of Columbus, and the Odd Fellows. He was also a director on the San Benito County Fair Board for seven years. He served on the Sacred Heart School Board and the Chamber of Commerce as well.

 He was an avid golfer, winning many trophies and awards. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and Immaculate Conception Church. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others. He was loved and respected by many. He will be greatly missed.

 Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Monday May 14th, 2012, at 10:00 A.M.
