Juana Trujillo Soto, 87, of Salinas, CA, entered eternal rest, on Friday, February 24, 2017. Mrs. Soto was the widow of Jose Carmen Soto (2007), mother of Eudulia “Lula” Ramirez of Gilroy, Fernando “Rambo” Soto (Ester) of Salinas, Francisco “Frank” Soto of Hollister, Maria Del Carmen Soto of Gilroy, Miguel “Mike” Soto (Beatrice) of Hollister, Jose Carmen Soto Jr. (Yvette) of Gilroy, Jesse Soto of San Martin, grandmother of Allegra, Analiza, Cassandra, Robert, Alexander, Erica, Adriana, Jaclyn, Miguel Jr., Steven, Vanessa, Julian, Adrian, Jose III, Melaya and great grandmother of Andres, Elias, Carter, Eliana, and Esteban Jr.
A native of Montelen Michoacan, Mexico, she married Jose Carmen Soto in July of 1962. Mr. Soto moved to Gilroy, California in 1969 and Mrs. Soto and their children joined him in 1971 from Mexico. She worked various jobs in the fields, became a farmer with her husband in the New Avenue area and eventually retired to become a housewife.
Mrs. Soto enjoyed spending quality time and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2007, after Mr. Soto passed away, Mrs. Soto moved to Salinas with her son Fernando (Ester) and granddaughters Allegra and Analiza. The Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Mass Thursday, March 2, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, Gilroy.
