Visitation will be Friday, November 23rd, 2012, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 P.M., with the Rosary offered at 7:00 P.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Family and friends will leave the funeral home Saturday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass of The Resurrection at 10:00 A.M., at St. Benedicts Church. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum. Memorials are preferred to VNA/Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

 Joseph A. Lico passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 18th, 2012, at the age of 97 years, surrounded by his Family.Joseph was a native of San Jose, CA . As a young child, “Joe”came to San Benito County with his father where they lived and worked at the Cribari Ranch.

 In 1934, they moved to Watsonville forming the Lico – Greco Partnership, operating a Grocery Store and Tavern. It was in Watsonville that he married his late wife Lena Doris and then in 1948 they bought property in Hollister on Enterprise Road and began their ranching career. They were married 70 years when Lena passed away in 2009.

 “Dad was a 100% family man who had a great appreciation for his family.” said his children.

 His apreciation of music, and singing was always evident at family gatherings. Joe was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the Farm Bureau, the Elk’s Lodge, and Sacred Heart/St. Benedict Parishes.

 Surviving Joseph are his children Ralph Lico, spouse Donna-Jo; Angelina DeRosa, spouse Jim, and Clementine Jones; his grandchildren Kim Parra, Anthony Lico, Brandi Solario, Jennifer Lico, Richard Lico, and Bryan DeRosa; his great-grandchildren Nathan Parra, Nicholas Solario, and Grace Lico; his sister-in-law Mary Lico; numerous nieces and nephews.

 He was predeceased by his brother Elmer Lico.
