 Weber Work, 61, of Gilroy CA, died peacefully at UCSF Hospital, San Francisco, Sunday, July 17, 2016, of cancer.
 John was born in Indiana, PA, the sixth of seven children to the late Joseph Kyle Work and Hazel Alberta Shorts.
 John grew up in Marion Center PA and entered the Air Force in the fall of 1973. He was at Edwards Air Force, CA base for eight years and Castle AFB, CA 12 years with overseas service in South Korea 1980-1981.
 After retirement from the service in 1993, he worked for S.E. Labs and then Abbott Labs in production, calibrating and testing equipment.
 He was active in musical and theater programs in the military, as singer or instrumentalist, or running sound and lighting programs. After the service, he became involved with the worship team at Gilroy Baptist church, as part of their musical leadership. He played bass guitar and sang with the group, Eternal Destiny who do outreach koinonias in the Gilroy area.
 John had a lovely bass-baritone voice, and greatly enjoyed singing four part gospel music.
 He was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Como (John) and Mary Jo Sink/Mackey.
 John is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings, William C. Work (Deb) of Rochester, N.Y., Sarah McIlvaine (Harry) of Smoot, W.V., Elizabeth Jane Anderson of Mechanicsbug, PA and Patrick J. Work
