Eric Cryar, Hugo Del Moral and Robert Basuino are the Gilroy police officers hailed as heroes for shooting and killing the gunman who murdered three people and injured more than a dozen others at the Gilroy Garlic Festival July 28.

 John T. Slavick, 75, passed away on September 8, 2015. He was born on May 8, 1940 in Miflin, AL.
 He was Exhaulted Ruler of the Hollister Elks and a member of the Mason’s Lodge.
 He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharyn, and his three daughters; Helena Mendonca, Heidi Slavick, and Valerie Noble. He also has eight grandchildren as well as his sister, Nancy Shailor, sister-in-law, Connie Weber and several nieces and nephews.
 He was a devoted husband and father, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
