At the age of 53, Herman took his last breath surrounded by his two sons, wife, and mother.

He bravely fought a long 5 year battle with cancer and even when it became terminal he maintained his independence, inspiring many. Rather than complain about the changes he was going through, he simply put his fate in God’s hands and prayed the Rosary every night in hope of a cure.

Herman loved playing and watching soccer with his sons. He enjoyed recognizing the beauty of God’s creations when taking long walks and riding his bike. It was important to him to return to his job as a Physician Assistant at Hazel Hawkins so he could provide for his family.

Herman was a strong, proud man who was very caring and loving and had a great sense of humor. He volunteered at Gilroy Rota Care clinic and donated to many causes.

Herman is survived by his wife, Sandra, sons, Ismael (Ishi), and Emmanuel (Emmi), father Jose Sr., mother Rebeca, brothers, Jose Jr. (Leticia), Hugo (Karen), Will (Rosetta), Frank (Sophia), Phil (Randie), Christopher (Kellee), sister, Becky (Carlos), many godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
