U11 soccer team wins back-to-back NorCal crowns
DANVILLE — The Orchard Valley Heat won its second consecutive under-11 Northern California championship last weekend, placing first out of 16 teams in a tournament in Danville.

Coached by Troy Carson and Mario Gomez, the South Valley team outscored its six opponents 19-1.

Orchard Valley defeated a tough team from San Juan, 1-0, in the title match, which was played in a downpour. The Heat’s Paulina Ilamas scored the game-winning goal midway through the second half.

NOTE: Jasmine Contreras, Nicole Carson, Agust Gomez, Samantha Gonzalez, Sarah Jensen, Lauren Putney, Morgan Rogers, Hannah Turnland, Hailey Smith, Lindsay White, Suzy Brookshire, Denise Martinez and Brooke Zenner also played for the Heat.
