Gwendolyn A. Thome

Peacefully passed away on November 21, 2007 in Elk Grove, CA with her family at her bedside.

Born on September 21, 1940 in Cheyenne, WY, Gwen grew up in Denver CO, eventually meeting her husband Donald who was stationed in the Air Force. They were married nine months after meeting and had been happily married for 46 years.

She is survived by her husband, Donald and their children; Daryl and wife Kathryn Thome, Valerie Sanchez and Regina Thome; Granddaughters, Victoria, Alexandra and Franchesca Sanchez; Grandson Nicholas Thome; In- laws Donald and Bertha Thome; Brothers in law, Gerald Thome, Cliff and wife Carol Thome. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Gwen raised her family in Gilroy, being active in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and the PTA. One of her passions in life was baking, over the years she became known for her Christmas Cookies, with friends and family eagerly awaiting their annual treat boxes.

Services will be held on Thursday November 29, 2007 at Habing’s Funeral Home in Gilroy. Visitation begins at 10:00am and the funeral will be at 1:30pm. Immediately following her interment at the Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, a celebration of Gwen’s life will be held at the United Methodist Church in Gilroy.
