Gerald Elton Logan April 15, 1924 - January 20, 2017

Gerald “Jerry” Elton Logan passed away on January 20, 2017 at the age of 92 at his daughter Lucies home in Lincoln. He was surrounded by his wife and his children. Jerry was born in Auburn, California and lived in nearby Lincoln throughout his childhood.
After graduating from Lincoln High he left for Berkeley to attend the university. He was drafted into the Army partway through his schooling and sent to post war Germany. It was there where Jerry met his future wife Gisela, who later came to California and Berkeley where he would finish his education.
He spent the next 30 years in Morgan Hill where he and Gisela raised six children and taught at Live Oak. While there, he implemented individualized learning methods, a school within a school, which later became Kleine Schule. He also wrote several textbooks and lectured around the world at teacher workshops.
Upon retiring, Jerry moved back to Lincoln where he wrote several history books on the area, traced his and other families genealogy, and contributed many articles for the local newspaper. He was co-founder of the Lincoln Area Archives Museum, and was very instrumental in rekindling the Lincoln Chapter of the Native Sons of the Golden West. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Gisela, his loving children, Lucie Morrell of Lincoln, Daniel Logan of Montclair, Virginia, Mike Logan & Lynette Dalton of Morgan Hill, and Andy Logan of Clovis, New Mexico. He has 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
