George William Hessling Sr, 80, passed away on Friday, October 26th, 2018. He was born November 27th, 1937 to George and Marie (Saude) Hessling in Lemoore, Kings County, California. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Morgan Hill, CA. He grew up in Morgan Hill and was raised on a small ranch on Main Avenue which is now Valley Pines Retirement Home.

In March of 2018, he moved back to his family home (Valley Pines) and spent the rest of his days living there. George retired from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy where he worked for 30 years. During his tenure there he was well known to all the farmers and ranchers in South County. His son George Jr. has continued his father’s legacy and is also part of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff. George enjoyed his 1939 Hot Rod and was a member of two car clubs.

He loved to BBQ, cook and entertain family and guests. He was a very loving and kind person who had many close friends. Survivors include; James Hessling of Morgan Hill, Loren (Hessling) Burks of Morgan Hill, William Hessling of Tracy, and George Hessling Jr. of Gilroy; 6 Grandchildren Robert, Renee, Nichole, Winston, Nathan, and Philip; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister Rosemarie Britton of Green Valley, AZ.

As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and some very special friends. George was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife Cheryl Alvernaz with whom he will be joined within his final resting place. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Monday, November 5th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

With the Rosary starting at 6:00 pm and Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on November 6th at Johnson’s Funeral Home in Morgan Hill, CA. George will be laid to rest at the Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery, Santa Clara, CA.
