George Gilroy Sr. passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 28th, 2012, at the age of 96 years. A native of Gilroy CA, George received his education through Gilroy schools, served his Country in WW II, and after his marriage to Martha Arroyo settled in Hollister.

 They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary before she passed away in June 2006.

 George was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the I.C.F., the Spanish Lodge, the V.F.W. Post No. 9242 of Hollister and the B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1492. Besides working at a Serviceman for Hollister Garage for 22 years, he was a well known musician,”The George Gilroy Trio” in the local county areas, playing for weddings, anniversaries, family events and different lodge benefits.

 George loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 He is survived by his son George Gilroy Jr. and spouse Maria, and daughter Ramona Brooks and spouse Jim of Hollister; his grandchildren Mark and Bryan Gilroy; Donna and Christopher Brooks; as well as nine great-grandchildren.

 As per his wishes, cremation has been arranged through Grunnagle Funeral Home Crematory. Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass Of Christian Burial on Monday, November 5th at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church 5th & College Sts, Hollister. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors presented by Post No. 9242, V.F.W.. Memorials are preferred to Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Northside c/o the funeral home chapel.
