Celebrating his 90th birthday, Gail announced,I have had a great life more blessings than I ever imagined.
Loving husband of Marilyn for 39 years and Bernie (d. 1974) for 25 years, Gail left us after 90 very full seasons.
While an active member of St. Brendan’s Parish (Los Angeles) and running his electrical contracting business, Gail and Bernie raised their family of six daughters and two sons. It was through St. Brendan’s, that Gail (a widower with eight kids) met Marilyn, his second wife whoembraced his family with love.
Born on his grandfather’s farm in Michigan, Gail and his brother, Don, were raised on their parents’, William and Dorothy’s farm near the Chicago Trail in
Indiana.
After serving in the Merchant Marines, Gail knew that he would never again live in a landlocked state! Boating, waterskiing and cruising would always be in his life as he found his! love in California.
His professional life in Los Angeles included being President of Jesswein Electric and the Director of the
Electrical Training Trust (IBEW/NECA).
Moving north with Marilyn in 1980, Gail’s career continued in Sacramento as the Chief of California’s Division of Apprenticeship Standards, the Registrar of the California State Contractor’s License Board, and the Commodore of the Delta Yacht Club.
A man of substance with faith, family and friends, Gail will be honored and missed by many.
