Felix passed away on May 10th at the age of 97.  He enjoyed a long and prosperous life surrounded by his family and friends.

Felix was born in Zacatecas, Mexico.  The family crossed into the United States when he was a mere toddler.  The Amaro family worked their way to Arizona, then on to San Jose, CA.  He came from migrant farm workers, and left school at age 14 to help the family.

As a young adult he returned to school to become an auto mechanic.  Although his education was interrupted by WWII, he was able to complete his education through army training.  During the War, he was a 2nd driver, 1st gunner and Sherman Tank mechanic.  Of his 250-member Battalion, only 17 returned.

Upon his return, he utilized his mechanic’s training for over 30 years in a local cannery.  In May 1947, he married Elena Belia Carrillo, who preceded him in death in 1990.

He leaves behind his loving children, David, Lydia, Arturo and Loretta, his 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and his brother Herman.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
