With an impressive candlelight ceremony, the 2003-04 Live Oak
High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) officers were
installed recently. Alumni Nguyen Lu, now attending Santa Clara
University, and Jary Hu, currently a student at San Jose State
University, had the honor of installing all the officers following
a potluck dinner with invited parents and guests.
With an impressive candlelight ceremony, the 2003-04 Live Oak High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) officers were installed recently. Alumni Nguyen Lu, now attending Santa Clara University, and Jary Hu, currently a student at San Jose State University, had the honor of installing all the officers following a potluck dinner with invited parents and guests.
The keynote speaker was Rosemary Kamei, Director, Santa Clara Water District, and the parent of Jonathan, one of the officers. She gave an informative presentation on the functions of the Water District including its history, the sources of water for the area, and even how their thinking has changed in terms of the landscape of the creekbeds and the environment from even ten years ago.
A slide presentation about FBLA and the activities in which the Chapter participated last year was shown in order to inform the guests about the organization and its purpose.
The following are officers: Derek Chan and Tiffany Shyuan, co-presidents; Roger Alcaraz and Sima Bhalala, vice presidents of community service; Kim Wakatsuki and Catalina Garcia, vice presidents of publicity; Evan Sarina and Jesse-James Garcia, vice-presidents of membership; Michelle Soult and Eric Danner, recording secretaries; Yige Wang and Jonathan Kamei, treasurers; Kim Wakatsuki, Reporter; Chris Burnham, historian; Erica Rianda, parliamentarian and Marius Layus, club representative.
