Eleanor Manitto Ott passed away at her residence at the age of 93 years. She attended San Juan Schools and graduated from San Benito High School.
Eleanor was a homemaker all her life and was very active in her community belonging to the San Juan Mission; a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Leslie L. Garrett Post No. 6359, VFW; a member of San Juan Bautista Parlor No. 179, Native Daughters of The Golden West; the San Juan Bautista Historical Society; and prior to her passing was the oldest living resident native of San Juan Bautista.
Eleanor was predeceased by husbands Clinton L. Ott and Leon Duplissie. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Ronald Bettencourt of Pacific Grove; grandchildren John (Kari) Bettencourt and Janelle (Warren) Hatton; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Bettencourt, Ryan and Katie Hatton; nephew Clifford (Claudia) Cardoza and niece Nadine (Lynn) Miller.
Friends are invited to a Rosary, Friday, September 7th, 2012, at 4:00 P.M. in The Guadalupe Chapel at San Juan Mission. Visitation will be held at Grunnagle Funeral Home on Monday , September 10th, 2012, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friends and family will meet at San Juan Mission on Tuesday, September 11th, 2012, at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass of The Resurrection commencing at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at San Juan District Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the N.D.G.W.; the V.F.W. Auxiliary; or to Heartland Hospice c/o the mortuary chapel.
