Edith Georgina Filice passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 9th, 2010. She was 76 years old.

Edith Caputo was born on February 21, 1933, in Hollister, CA. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Gennero Filice, and soon after they opened a grocery store in Morgan Hill. Edith gave birth to three sons, Steve, Frank, and Larry. In 1963, they moved to their new home and farm in Gilroy, and have been there ever since. Edith was a tenacious woman with an unparalleled dedication to her family. She is survived by her husband, Gennero; her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve, Frank and Marilyn, and Larry and Lauren; her grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law Stephanie, Marco and Monica, Patrick and Sang, Allison, Gennero, Adrian, and Mario; and her great-grandchildren, Pete and Sonya. She was preceded in death by her parents Angelina and Santo Caputo, and her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Accanero.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Edith Filice will be missed tremendously by all who were blessed to have had her in their lives.

Her family is requesting that donations be made to Cooley’s Anemia Foundation through the Italian Catholic Federation branch 28.
