Redevelopment Agency money coming in and going out is below the expected 75 percent mark, as three-quarters of the fiscal year have passed.

In spending on capital projects (building) the RDA has spent only 51 percent, not including its “encumbrances” or promises to spend – on the courthouse, indoor sports center and others. Spending on administrative costs for employee services, supplies and contract services were at 60 percent.

During the year the RDA made payments on the Condit Road soccer fields, courthouse property and construction, Butterfield Blvd., aquatic center, street resurfacing and land for a possible new library.

Income from property taxes are slightly below 75 percent, though they dribble in irregularly; total revenues are below 50 percent and interest is more than 450 percent above the 75 percent mark.

Council will also hear a library subcommittee report on where to find money to build a new library and pros and cons of two locations under consideration – on DeWitt Avenue or downtown.

City Council and/or the RDA meets at 7 p.m. most Wednesdays in City Hall Chambers, 17555 Peak Ave. Details: www.morganhill.ca.gov or 779-7271. Council meetings are broadcast live on cable access channel 17.
