Medicare funding for South County’s only hospital is no longer in jeopardy of being cut off, since Saint Louise Regional Hospital received a green light from the organization that oversees compliance with health and safety standards for patients.

The owner of a political display that has been criticized as racist and threatening has added what appears to be an effigy of President Barack Obama to the exhibit at the east Morgan Hill residence.

The Santa Clara County Cattlemen’s Association will host an evening of western music, art and a gourmet beef dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Fortino Winery, located at 4525 Hecker Pass Highway in Gilroy. The event will feature an acoustic show performed by the Kelly McDonald Band, as well as a live auction of local western art. Cost is $50 per person and includes a beef dinner. Morgan Hill resident Ryan Lokey, 28, spent more than two years acquiring a series of permits from all levels of government to open his new store in an inconspicuous, barely labeled unit of a strip mall in south Morgan Hill, but it was worth the wait because he is finally allowed to preserve and pass along his lifelong passion of precision firearms marksmanship to others.

Morgan Hill loves burgers and fries - at least that’s what the swarm of customers who showed up to the grand opening of the new Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant at the Madrone Village shopping center Wednesday seem to indicate.
