Dear Editor,
I enjoy watching and reading about the success of this year’s Live Oak High School football team. Surely, the coaching of Glen Webb and his staff have been responsible for a large part of the success of this year’s team.
However, I think we should also recognize the tremendous impact that K.C. Adams has had on this team. Coach K.C. had many of the team members in his Pop Warner football teams a few years back. Coach K.C. taught those boys a love for football, the meaning of teamwork and hard work, and the fundamental skills of football that the boys have built on in their high school years.
K.C. also taught the boys where football fits into life’s priorities. The boys learned how the values that will lead them to success in school, in their families and in their community are the same values that are important for success in football. I am sure that K.C.’s boys still carry with them the lessons that he taught them.
One of my sons was part of K.C.’s teams, and even though he no longer plays football, he still draws on the lessons that he learned from Coach K.C. Congratulations to the Live Oak team, and thank you Coach K.C. The Valley Christian football team also has some of Coach K.C.’s boys, so his influence is felt throughout our region.
