The Ghost autographs

Pro boxer Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero will be signing autographs at Garlic City Billiards from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. All fans will get a free picture for “The Ghost” to sign. Plus there will be Ghost Gear for sale such as tee-shirts, sweat shirts, skull-caps and artwork. At the signing, there will be a free BBQ with hotdogs and sodas for everyone. The undefeated featherweight, 21, who recently scored an eighth round TKO of former world champion Enrique Sanchez on Showtime, is well on his way to becoming the first Gilroy born and raised world champion.

LOHS summer sports camps

There’s still plenty of room at the Live Oak High summer sports camps, which runs weekly through Aug. 13.

Sports camps include all-sports, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, badminton, soccer, tennis, track, football, field hockey and volleyball, along with academic and activities camps including ceramics, and science/math.

mh water polo

The Morgan Hill Water Polo age group team, ages 9 to 14, practices Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the new MH aquatics center. Also at the aquatics center, females age 18 and up are welcome to participate in the Moms Polo program, which practices from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. High school age water polo players practice at the Live Oak High pool on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

bigserve volleyball

BigServe Volleyball is accepting registrations for it’s fourth summer season beginning June 21 and finishing July 27. The BigServe Girls Volleyball League will operate two days per week, including: Monday and Tuesday nights at the Morgan Hill Country School Gym, 105 John Wilson Way. Beginners / Low intermediate 4:30-6:15 p.m., Advanced 6:15-8:30 p.m. All games/practices will be held at Morgan Hill Country School. Also, BigServe will hold a four-person tournament on Saturday, July 17. This is free for all BigServe participants. Non-BigServe girls must pay a one-time fee of $25. Kids can make their own four-person team and compete against other teams in the area. The league is open to girls who will be 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th graders during the 2004-2005 school year. Space is limited to the first 50 girls at the beginner and advanced levels to register and pay league fees. Registration will continue to the end of the season (acceptance based on enrollment). OVYSL signups

The Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is now taking signups for the 2004/05 fall recreational season.

The cost before July 15 is $95 for the first and second player of the family and $60 for the third or more.

Beginning July 16, the cost is $120 on a space-available basis.

Boys and girls aged 4-14 (born from 8-1-99 to 7-31-91) are eligible.

9th annual basketball jones camps

The 9th Annual Basketball Jones Hoop Camp will take place July 5-9 at Oakwood Country School, 105 John Wilson Way, Morgan Hill. The camp runs from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is open to boys and girls ages 76-15. Camp fee is $180 for week; $160 is you sign up before May 15.
