Sign-ups are being taken for fall soccer for Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League. The cost before June 30 is $95 per first and second, $60 for third and more players. After June 30, the cost is $120 provided space is available. Boys and girls age 5 to 15 are eligible. Download an application from www.ovysl.org. With his stomach full of knots, John Anderson made his million dollar approach to the tee box on the second hole at Eagle Ridge Golf Course for Saturday’s first-annual Gavilan College Shootout.
Anderson – who was the second of 10 finalists to get one swing at the 166-foot shot on the picturesque par-three – lined up and stroked the ball high over the fairway and the intimidating sand traps that were spread around the front of the green. His shot hit the green and rolled within 19 feet-three inches of the pin for first place and a prize bag including Giants’ tickets with VIP parking.
