Both the Live Oak High and Sobrato High roller hockey teams are seeking new players for the upcoming fall season.

For the Acorns, an experienced goalie and/or anyone eager to learn the position is encouraged to sign up. Interested Live Oak students and homeschoolers in the LO area can email [email protected] for information. Matches start in September and will be played at Rollin Ice in San Jose.

SCBA Fall League

The fall session of the South County Basketball Academy begins on Saturday, Sept. 10. All practices and games will be held at Britton Middle School. Annual clinics will be held on Sept. 10, while the team-balancing jamboree will held on Sept. 17 and games begin Sept. 24. The league concludes the first Saturday in November. The fees are $85 for returning new players and $105 for new players or players needing a new jersey. Spirit of MH Needs Board Members

El Toro Aquatics Fall Programs

Beginning Sept. 6, El Toro Aquatics of Morgan Hill will offer all new fall programs at the new Sobrato High swimming pool. There will be programs for all levels (children thru adults) offered. Swim instruction, conditioning and competitive training will be available. OVYSL fall soccer accepting sign-ups

Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is now taking sign-ups for the 2005-06 fall recreational season.

Play begins Sept. 10 and ends Nov. 20. Boys and girls ages 4-16 are eligible (birth dates 8/1/1989 to 7/31/2001). Fees range from $65 for U6, $95 for U8 and $120 for U10-U16.

Download an application from www.ovysl.org for more details. Fill out the form according to the directions and mail it (do not hand deliver) to OVYSL, PO Box 0891, Morgan Hill, CA 95038.

Include a certified copy of the prospective player’s birth certificate, along with a 1-inch by 1 1/2-inch color photo. Note: Player may not be wearing a hat or sunglasses in the photo.

Teams are filled on a space-available-only basis after July 15.

YMCA Camps signups

Mt. Madonna YMCA in Morgan Hill is now accepting registration for camps which take place at the Morgan Hill YMCA, 17666 Crest Ave.

Half-day sports camps are for 3-5 year olds and take place through Aug. 19. The cost is $133/week.

One full-day sports camp remains, a Y-World of Sports from Aug. 15-19 at $223/week.

These camps are only for those entering grades 1-3 or 4-6.

SJ Lady Sharks softball

The San Jose Lady Sharks Gold softball team will be holding tryouts for the fall season on Sept. 21 at Del Mar High School in San Jose. All positions open. Tryout time is at 9am. Younger teams’ tryouts also that day.

CBC Golf Tournament

Help support the Pacific West Christian Academy campus project by playing in the 4th annual CBC Golf Tournament at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy on Sept. 30. Registration is at 7:30am, and cost is $175 per person. Cost includes greens fees, continental breakfast, tri-tip lunch, and a chance in a $25,000 putting contest. Players who register and pay by Aug. 26 qualify for a free foursome on the day of the event.

Do you love sports and attending games? Do you like to write? Would you like to get paid for writing? If you answered yes to these questions, you may be interested in becoming a part-time sports writer for the Morgan Hill Times. No experience is necessary but you do have to enjoy watching sports and writing, have reliable transportation and be available for occasional afternoon, evening and weekend sports coverage.
