Carol Jean Pappani Doak, Houston, Texas, lost her brave battle with cancer and joined the Lord on December 31, 2006.

Carol was born in 1939 in Santa Cruz, California. After attending Morland/Notre Dame High School in Watsonville, she enrolled at Lone Mountain College for Women in San Francisco, where she earned a Masters Degree in Education and Sociology. Following college, Carol taught elementary school prior to relocating to Houston, Texas in 1972. There she was instrumental in working with and creating many social programs, including West Houston Assistance Ministries (Second Blessing), Angels at Work, Northwest and Southwest Area Ministries, and most recently. the St. Joseph House (The Magnificat House).

Carol’s legacy and deepest love was her family. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jame Bragg; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jean Doak; three grandchildren, Alex and Peyton Bragg, and McKenna Doak, all of Houston, Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandi Pappani of Pebble Beach, and her sister-in-law Nancy Pappani of Watsonville, and numberous beloved relatives in Gilroy. Carol is preceded in death by her mother and father, Adelle L. and Gene I Pappani and her brother, Gene J. Pappani.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 26, 11:00 A. M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 721 Main Street, Watsonville.
