A Vigil will be held for Carmen on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at 5:00 P.M., at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy, CA. A Mass will take place the following day, Monday, July 13, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy. It is with great sorrow that the Saucedo family of Gilroy, CA announce the passing of our loving Carmen Acedo Saucedo on July 4, 2015. She died peacefully, at home surrounded by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Henry Saucedo and her two devoted children, Henry Acedo, Jr. and her daughter. Rosemary Acedo Carranza.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Joann Acedo Gomez in 1998.
Also surviving Carmen are her eight wonderful grandchildren; Joey Carranza, Arturo Carranza, Brian Carranza (Ashley), Linda Carranza Blundo (Jason), Jina Carranza, Michael and Eric Acedo, Christopher Gomez, and seven beautiful great-grandchildren.
Surviving siblings are Esther Galvan, Mary Martinez, and Jesse Martinez.
Carmen was born to Phillip and Innocencia Martinez on December 14, 1931, in Holtville, CA.
Carmen lived and worked most of her life in Morgan Hill and Gilroy, CA.
Carmen was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she collected praise for her tamales and Menudo.
Her home was warm and welcoming to all. Her quiet and unassuming demeanor endeared her to everyone.
Carmen also loved an occasional trip to the nearest casino and she loved to watch her favorite novelas with her husband, Henry.
Carmen will be missed dearly, but will forever be deep within our hearts and memories.
