Sobrato’s late comeback nearly takes out TCAL’s top team;
Bulldogs face San Benito today
Morgan Hill – Despite being winless in Tri-County Athletic League action, the Sobrato Bulldogs baseball team has proved that they shouldn’t be underestimated. On Thursday in Salinas the Bulldogs (1-6-1, 0-2-1 TCAL) put up five runs in the top of the seventh inning against the Palma Chieftains, pulling to within one run before finally falling to Palma 6-5.

The late comeback proves the young Sobrato team doesn’t give up when the chips are down. Michael Guio had a two-run double in the top of the seventh against Palma and Danny Nelson, Taylor O’Connell and Kevin Sullivan each drove in a run in the same inning.

O’Connell was the starting pitcher for the Bulldogs, striking out two and allowing five hits.

Sobrato faces San Benito today in make-up game from last week and on Monday the Bulldogs host their first varsity matchup against the Live Oak Acorns at 3:30pm.
