Betty Ann La Fountain passed on to be with the Lord on January 7, 2012. She was born in Port Huron, MI on January 20, 1926 to Ernest and Mereda Jeske.

She came to California in 1954 with her husband and children. Her family was her life. She worked for Gentry’s for 30 years. After retirement she worked at Garlic World.

She loved to garden, bowl, play Bunco, to travel, dance and was an avid reader. She was a member of Gilroy Presbyterian Church. Her and her husband Tom owned Happy Stop Restaurant and Tom’s House of Colour here in Gilroy.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom La Fountain who passed in 1992, and her siblings, Edith Bartlett, Avonne Zander, William, Richard, Clifford and Ronald Jeske. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Penny Wojahn, Susan and John Chavez, Tom & Nancy La Fountain and Roger and Paula La Fountain. Grandchildren, Anne and David Hober, Robin and Paul Brooke, Laurie and Jason Powers, Denise and Steve Morgan, Lynette and Mike Elia, Dan and Claudia La Fountain, Nick and Melissa La Fountain, Ashley La Fountain and fiance Adam Fuoss, and Jameson and Austin Lucero. Great- Grandchildren; Logan, Ryan, Bradley, Joshua, Alyssa, Ian, Mia, Lauren, Sean, Sarah, Matthew, Emma, Delaney, Aiden, Samantha, and Lauren Taylor. Siblings, Donna Mulch, Joyce Tait, Rosie Leavitt, Pat Caspary, Jack and Jim Jeske.

Celebration of Life will be held at Gilroy Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to GPC, Live Oak Adult Day Services or VNA Hospice Monterey.
