Funeral Services for Ben A. St. Louis were held at 10:00 A.M. at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK. Burial was at 2:30 P.M. in Little, OK under the direction of Hayhust Funeral Home.

Ben Alfred St. Louis was born February 12, 1940 in Eureka, CA, the son of Ben Francis and Nona (Dexter) St. Louis. Ben died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK. He was 69 years of age.

In 1970, Ben joined the teaching staff of San Benito High School District. For the first 20 years, Ben’s school assignment was the comprehensive high school, San Benito High School. In 1990, Ben accepted the Resource Specialist assignment at our alternative high school, San Andreas Continuation High.

Ben was a graduate of Campbell, California High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education from San Jose State University and his Masters Degree in Special Education from San Francisco State University.

He married the former Miss Mary Bush on June 18, 1977 in Reno, NV. They moved to Broken Arrow in 2003 from Hollister, CA. Ben was a school teacher and retired form the United States Naval Reserves. He grew orchids, collected stamps and enjoyed Southern Gospel music. He would make copies of the Gaithers music, passing it out to friends, neighbors and teachers. He was baptized in 2007 and was a member of the Assembly.

He is survived by his wife, Mary St. Louis of Broken Arrow, OK, aunt Jeannie Dexter of Vallejo, CA and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
