Morgan Hill – Live Oak softball third baseman Kelly McDonald signed a letter of intent to play for San Francisco State after she graduates this summer.

She will be on partial scholarship when she begins in the fall of 2007.

McDonald said she was noticed by recruiters from San Francisco State while she was playing in a tournament in Stockton in September.

She said she was asked to try out and said she loved the atmosphere she found.

“I fell in love with (the team),” McDonald said. “The coach was nice and the girls were really friendly.”

McDonald said she also liked the mix of play and seriousness of the team.

“They are very friendly girls, but once they got on the field, they get serious,” McDonald said.
