Accident: A 12-year-old boy received minor injuries when the Chevy he was riding in was struck broadside by a Ford at the intersection of Maple and Foothill avenues east of Morgan Hill on Wednesday evening.

The driver of the Ford, Randi Byrne, 42, of Morgan Hill, apparently was driving southbound on Foothill approaching the intersection at 6:55 p.m. when the Chevy, driven by Scott Case, 43, of Morgan Hill, driving westbound on Maple Avenue, entered the intersection directly in front of Byrne’s vehicle. Byrne was unable to avoid hitting the side of the Chevy.

The injured boy, who was wearing a seatbelt, was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported in an ambulance to San Jose Medical Center complaining of shoulder and neck pain.

Battery: A 28-year-old Morgan Hill male was taken to county jail charged with spousal injury. The report was taken on Oct. 7 at 2:02 p.m.

Auto burglary: A resident of the 15400 block of Calle Enrique reported someone broke into her Honda, breaking the driver’s side window. The stereo was not stolen, but the glove box was ransacked. The report was taken at 6:17 a.m. on Oct. 22.

• A resident of the 700 block of Claremont Drive reported witnessing two suspects steal the radio and other items from the resident’s car the night before. The report was taken on Oct. 22 at 8:04 a.m.

• A resident of Cochrane Village Apartments reported a stereo, digital camera, CDs and a Halloween costume were stolen from the resident’s vehicle overnight. The report was taken at 8:07 a.m. on Oct. 22.

• A stereo, CD player and a wallet were stolen from a pickup parked at a residence in the 17500 block of Calle Mazatan. The report was taken on Oct. 22 at 9:13.

Arrests and citations: Ivan L. Chavez, 18, of San Jose was cited and released charged with vandalism less than $1,000. The report was taken on Sept. 29 at 9:24 p.m.

• Two juveniles were charged with robbery after an incident outside the Christina Apartments. A 14-year-old Morgan Hill male was cited and released, and a 16-year-old Morgan Hill male was taken to juvenile hall. The report was taken at 9:17 p.m. on Oct. 1.

• Marc Tolin, 53, of Morgan Hill was taken to county jail on outstanding warrants for suspicion of being drunk in public. The report was taken on Oct. 3 at 1:58 a.m.

• Two juveniles, a 15-year-old Morgan Hill male and a 17-year-old Morgan Hill male, were cited and released for fighting at Live Oak High. The report was taken at 10:04 a.m. on Oct. 3.

• Peter G. Edwards, 39, of Gilroy was cited and released on suspicion of being drunk in public. The report was taken on Oct. 4 at 2:30 a.m.

• Sami J. Azar, 25, of Morgan Hill was cited and released charged with driving on suspended license and reckless driving. The report was taken at 10:27 p.m. on Oct. 4.

• Michael A. Presencion, 19, of San Martin was cited and released charged with trespassing after an incident at Live Oak High. The report was taken on Oct. 8 at 1:22 p.m.

• David A. Oniveros, 27, of Gilroy and Ryan G. Chamers, 22, of San Martin were cited and released for fighting in public after an incident at Betsy’s Restaurant. Chambers also had an outstanding warrant. The report was taken at 12:46 a.m. on Oct. 11.

Arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance: Christopher T. Haygood, 21, of Morgan Hill was taken to county jail. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, possession of a counterfeit bill, possession of a dagger, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. The report was taken on Oct. 1 at 1:39 a.m.

Arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence: Jose A. Garcia, 32, of Morgan Hill was cited and released. The report was taken on Sept. 30 at 4:47 p.m.

• Sanjeev G. Lal, 30, of Petaluma was cited and released. The report was taken at 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 3.

• Christopher R. Bliss, 26, of Novato was cited and released. The report was taken on Oct. 4 at 11:42 p.m.

• Gary A. Hubbard, 58, of Morgan Hill was cited and released. The report was taken at 5:32 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Vandalism: A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s vehicle was “keyed” while it was parked in the Target parking lot on Oct. 19. The report was taken at 9:37 a.m. on Oct. 21.

Stolen vehicle: A Buick LeSabre was stolen from a residence in the 17700 block of Del Monte Avenue. The vehicle was left running to warm up. The report was taken at 10:04 a.m. on Oct. 15.

• A resident of the 16900 block of Del Monte reported his Suzuki motorcycle was stolen from the carport overnight. The report was taken on Oct. 22 at 7:23 a.m.

Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of Archstone Apartments reported that someone stole all four tires from his Honda overnight. The report was taken on Oct. 22 at 7:04 a.m.

Petty theft: A resident of the 17500 block of Depot Street reported someone took a scarecrow from the front of her house. The report was taken at 9:20 p.m. on Oct. 15.

• A wallet on the counter in the EB Games store was stolen. The report was taken on Oct. 16 at 5:27 p.m.

• A door mat was stolen overnight from in front of The Art Scene downtown. The report was taken at 1:41 on Oct. 20.

• Someone reported mail was stolen from the Post Office mailbox in front of the Post Office. The report was taken on Oct. 20 at 5:02 p.m.

• A door mat was stolen overnight from in front of Susanne’s Music School downtown. The report was taken at 10:37 a.m. on Oct. 21.
