Live Oak will travel to North County for its only Saturday game this season.
Maybe Live Oak can get something going in its only day game of the season. After all, the Acorns have won two of their last three day games, but that goes all the way back to 2001. Since Live Oak defeated Monterey on Oct. 13, 2001, the team is on a 17-game winless streak.
Breaking that streak won’t be an task against the defensive minded Condors. North County is 3-0 and has given up just four touchdowns in the three games.
Although Live Oak has played North County tough in the last two years, picking up one of its two wins in 2001 and then recording a tie last year.
The Condors are coming off a 20-14 upset against North Salinas, holding running back Ronnie Drummer to just 43 yards. Coming into the game, he was averaging 115 yards per game.
North County also has had no trouble putting up points on the board this year, more than tripling the total offense of Live Oak’s (86 to 12).
Ray Alvarez has recorded 10 sacks already for the Condors – four in the last game.
