The Morgan Hill Raiders moved to Hollister Sunday after the Live Oak field was unavailable and recorded a shutout.

On the opening drive, Jerry Jacobs had a 25-yard punt, and Steven Villarreal laid down a solid hit. Jerardo Caro got the defense fired up all day with consistent tackles. Tyler Lerma received the kick on the run at the Viking 35-yard line, but his touchdown run was negated after a clip.

Derick Taylor went off tackle then bumped outside and ran untouched for 25 yards. With a block by Lorenzo Aguayo, Jerry Jacobs got around the right corner for the first down.

Jacobs found Aguayo wide open for a six-yard touchdown on a fourth down. Lerma recovering a fumble, and the line of Tyler Pederson and Tyler Tobia helped Nathaniel Batad and Joey Chapa keep the chains moving.

Defensively, Mitch Crowley came up with a big helmet-to-helmet stop and stuffed the run for no gain. On the fourth down try, Andrew Knight made a shoe string tackle at the line to stop the Viking threat.

Superb pass blocking by Andrew Martinez, Austin Tobia, Anthony Surber and Tyler Pederson allowed Jacobs to complete passes to Jonah Guary and Derick Taylor as time ran out in the first half.

Anthony Villarreal opened the second half with a bone chilling hit on the kick off return then shut down a third-down run with another nice tackle. After trading punts, the Raiders Guary recovered a fumble on a punt deep in Vikings territory. Guary took the next hand off and hammered down to the 8-yard line. But the Raiders fumbled on the two.

After a 48-yard kickoff return by the Vikings, the defense needed a stop. Rising to the occasion, Anthony Surber stopped a sweep for a 2-yard loss. On fourth down, Clayton Howard rolled off the left end blocker and stood up the sweep with help from Lerma and hauled down the Vikings running back. Howard was injured after his wrist was bent back but was able to finish the game.

Midway into the final quarter, the Raiders marched down the field and wore off the clock. On a third and long, Jacobs found Aguayo on a 20-yard touchdown off a tight end slant similar to the one that got the first quarter touchdown.
