Councilwoman Hedy Chang has been elected secretary/treasurer of the Santa Clara County Cities Association Executive Board, a position held several years ago by Mayor Dennis Kennedy. He is currently the Morgan Hill representative to the board.
While Chang is not a current member of the board, she is Morgan Hill’s representative to the association’s legislative task force.
Sunnyvale’s Pat Vorreiter, who is serving as president, is not a member of the board either, Chang said.
Chang was elected last week.
“It’s a great honor and good to be nominated,” Chang said Monday.
Kennedy requested that a letter be placed on Wednesday’s City Council agenda asking the association to change its by-laws. Details on the proposed changes werre not available at press time.
The association was formed in 1990, bringing together the 15 cities in the county to represent the mutual interests of the cities and to present a unified voice in dealing with other agencies, organizations and governments, according to its website.
