The park and pond behind City Hall will be getting a make-over soon, compliments of the latest Leadership Morgan Hill class but the group could use some help from the public.

Every class undertakes a project to benefit the community and the class of 2003 class will be renovating the park and pond area between City Hall and the Morgan Hill Library. Plans include cleaning the pond, refurbishing the waterfall and the addition of plants. The group also intends to build an arbor to enhance the area’s beauty.

The plans were presented to the City Council at its June 4 meeting.

“It is our plan to help beautify the park and make it a place people will want to visit,” said Mitch Mariani II, LMH Marketing and Public Relations chair. “We hope to get the whole community involved with everything from, in-kind donations, to labor and funds.”

Leadership Morgan Hill class members will be around town asking for contributions. Unsolicited donations, which are 100 percent tax deductible, are welcome.
