Albert Mirko October 11, 1942 – July 12, 2012

Albert Mirko of Gilroy CA, age 69, passed away peacefully July 12, 2012 with family and friends by his side at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy due to complications from cancer. Albert was the beloved husband of Rosemary for 27 years. He was the son of Franca and Saripa Mirko of England. Albert is survived by children Charlotte, Helen and Paul of England and Tamara of Chino as well as his grandchildren Monty, Kitty, Mabel of England and Amanda, Brandon and Alexandra of Chino. Albert is survived by brothers Rommel, Edward, Chris, George and sister Pauline of England.

Albert owned Mirko Racing where he was a professional race car driver, builder and designer of race cars for more than 40 years. He was co-founder and director of Town Cats, a nonprofit cat shelter and adoption center located in Morgan Hill. Albert loved tennis and was an active member of the Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and Cupertino Tennis Clubs. He played his last match on Sunday July 8th.

 A Memorial Service will be held at Habing Funeral Home in Gilroy Sunday July 22 at 1pm with Reception immediately following at the Gilroy Veterans Hall. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Town Cats, PO Box 1828, Morgan Hill, CA 95038.
