Other MHPD incidents
Grand theft
Someone reported about $3,000 worth of tools stolen from a storage unit on Cosmo Avenue. The theft occurred some time between Feb. 5 and 6, and the crime was reported Feb. 9. Stolen were an air compressor, two table saws, a paint sprayer, two car seats and other tools.
Found property
An unspecified amount of marijuana was found in a hand bag that someone left at Chili’s restaurant, on the 1000 block of Cochrane Road. The witness who reported finding the bag said he or she looked inside to find an identification card, and saw the marijuana. The witness then called police. The incident was reported Friday.
Welfare check
A Trader Joe’s shopper saw a woman sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked Mercedes-Benz “poking at her face, like she is ‘tweeking,'” police reported. An officer arrived at the parking lot on the 17000 block of Laurel Road and determined the woman was applying makeup. The incident was reported about 2:55 p.m. Saturday.
Domestic violence
A nurse at Saint Louise Regional Hospital reported a pregnant woman arrived at the hospital for treatment from injuries suffered in a fight with her boyfriend, police said. The woman refused to give her boyfriend’s name, but said the man pushed her in the stomach and grabbed her by the arm. The woman was 14 weeks pregnant, and reported stomach cramping after the incident. The incident was reported about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Vandalism
Two juveniles reportedly threw lounge chairs and other outdoor furniture into the swimming pool at Woodland Estates Mobile Home park, on the 800 block of West Middle Avenue. The vandalism reportedly happened overnight Saturday.
