Theresa Dianne Martin, 55, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at home in Hollister, California with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband, James W. Martin Jr., her son, James W. Martin III (Cody) and daughter, Stephanie Michelle Martin.
Born Theresa Dianne Sechrist in Oceanport, New Jersey, she grew up in San Diego, California. She embraced the Southern California lifestyle, which defined her as a healthy, energetic, outdoor type who could often be seen sunning on the white sandy beaches she called home, occasionally even when she should have been in school. In her sophomore year of High School she met the young man who would become her soul-mate.
Jim and Theresa dated for several years and were married on April 28, 1984. They established homes together in Gilroy, then Morgan Hill, and finally Hollister. She raised her two children with the same dedication and commitment she displayed in her marriage.
Her tenacity and determination were evident in her many personal, social and business accomplishments. Elegant and graceful she could turn every head in a room, while making each of them pleased to consider her a friend. She leaves behind her mother Brenda Carol Parker, and step-father Herbert Charles Parker of Grants Pass, Oregon, and her brother James Eldon Sechrist, of Portland, Oregon.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday April 29th, 2017 at Black-Cooper-Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th Street, Hollister. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Theresa’s life. The beauty of the garden was one of Theresa’s greatest passions; therefore flowers will certainly be welcomed at the service.
