The Live Oak softball team went 3-1 in the Circle of Champions Tournament in Salinas, falling in the title game to Notre Dame-Salinas 6-3.
The Acorns stand at 3-2 on the season despite the loss.
After a perfect opening round of the tournament on March 4, the Acorns took down Christopher 2-0 thanks to a home run in the fourth inning.
Live Oak allowed just three hits to the Cougars and five base runners in total, while coming through with just five hits of its own and seven base runners with no walks.
The Acorns turned around against Notre Dame, going into a quick 3-1 hole after the first inning.
Live Oak got one back in the fourth, but two runs in the fifth lifted the Spirits to a 5-2 lead.
The Acorns mustered one more in the sixth, but Notre Dame answered that with one of its own.
Live Oak will next hit the road against Valley Christian on Thursday and will follow that up with a road game at Pioneer Thursday. Both games are at 4 p.m.
Sobrato softball
The Sobrato softball team went 1-1 to close the Circle of Champions Tournament, falling 7-3 to Presentation before blowing out Willow Glen 15-3.
The Bulldogs improve to 3-2 overall despite scoring an average of just under nine runs per game.

Sobrato mustered 16 hits and four walks against the Rams, scoring five unearned runs for good measure along the way.
