Violation of a court order
A 47-year-old woman was charged with a violation of a court order 11:10 a.m. Dec. 31 when animal control officers received a tip that she was living with animals despite being barred from working with or owning animals for the term of her probation.
Burglary
Someone, between 8:30 and 10 a.m. on the 2200 block of Day Road in Gilroy, cut the lock to the gate of a residence, pried open a locked garage and stole two Snap-On tool boxes estimated at $8,000. The suspect also stole a car battery from an unlocked vehicle estimated at $150.
Someone, between 10 a.m. Dec. 12 and 11 a.m. Dec. 14 on the 2600 block of Pacheco Pass Highway in Gilroy, entered a locked barn and took miscellaneous tools estimated at $4,300.
Someone, between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 13 on the 2700 block of Ferguson Road in Gilroy, forcibly entered a residence and stole multiple items totalling $190.
Vandalism/credit card fraud
Someone, between 9 p.m. Dec. 29 and 7:45 a.m. Dec. 30 on the 1600 block of Jennifer Lane in Gilroy, vandalized an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence, resulting in $50 in damages. The suspect also entered a second vehicle and stole a driver’s license, two credit cards and two check books before charging $596.02 on the credit cards.
Vandalism
Someone, between 8:30 p.m. Dec. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 19 on the 2500 block of Bridle Path Drive in Gilroy, pried open a mailbox and stole the mail. Damage to the mailbox is estimated at $15.
Someone, between 12:30 and 1:10 p.m. Dec. 13 on the 4500 block of Hecker Pass Highway in Gilroy, shattered the front passenger side window of a vehicle, causing $1,000 in damage.
Vehicle theft
A 36-year-old woman was charged with vehicle theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation at 3:36 a.m. Dec. 27 on the 7000 block of Camino Arroyo at Renz Lane in Gilroy.
A vehicle was reported stolen between 6:50 and 6:55 a.m. on the 15000 block of Monterey Road in Morgan Hill. The victim was warming up the vehicle and walked inside while it ran when it was stolen.
Someone, between 6:30 and 6:40 a.m. Dec. 14 on the 1100 block of Buena Vista Avenue in San Martin, stole a vehicle from a residence while the victim and another witness watched from a nearby vehicle. They pursued the vehicle until the suspect crashed and fled on foot.
A vehicle was reported stolen between 3 and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 11 on the 11000 block of Colombet Avenue in San Martin. The vehicle was later found on Columbet Avenue.
Vehicle theft recovery
Officers located a stolen vehicle at 8:26 a.m. Dec. 19 on Leavesley Road at Roop Road in Gilroy.
Petty theft
Someone stole a license plate from a flatbed trailer between 3 p.m. Dec. 1 and noon Dec. 21 from residence on the 300 block of East San Martin Avenue.
Someone, between 11:10 and 11:40 a.m. Dec. 16 on the 1800 block of Fisher Avenue in Morgan Hill, stole power tools (three drills, a Skilsaw and a battery) from a business. The total loss was about $800.
Forgery
Someone used a counterfeit $50 bill at a business on the 13000 block of Monterey Highway in San Martin.
Trespassing
A 61-year-old man was charged with trespassing/building a fire without consent and lodging on private property without consent at 9:58 a.m. Dec. 12 on Bailey Avenue at Santa Teresa Boulevard.
Driving on suspended license
A 30-year-old woman was charged with appropriation of lost property and driving with a suspended license after she was clocked at more than 100 mph at 7:30 p.m. on U.S. 101 at Dunne Avenue in Morgan Hill. The suspect had no insurance. Officers found a victim’s driver’s license, credit cards and wallet in the suspect’s vehicle.
Public intoxication
A 47-year-old man was charged with public intoxication at 9:13 a.m. Jan. 2 on the 15000 block of Monterey Road in Morgan Hill.
A 49-year-old woman was charged with public intoxication at 5:57 p.m. Jan. 1 on Sycamore Avenue at San Martin Avenue.
A 71-year-old man was charged with public intoxication at 10:18 p.m. Dec. 16 on Redwood Retreat Road at Watsonville Road in Gilroy.
A 23-year-old man was charged with public intoxication between 5 and 5:02 p.m. Dec. 13 on Monterey Highway at Rucker Avenue in Gilroy.
Drugs
A 24-year-old man was charged with possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 1 on the 14000 block of Foothill Avenue in San Martin.
A 38-year-old man was charged with possession of methamphetamine at 5:11 p.m. Dec. 31 on Monterey Road at Travel Park Way in Gilroy.
A 46-year-old man was charged with possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 31 on Monterey Road at Travel Park Way in Gilroy.
A 20-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 29 on Monterey Highway at Bolsa Road in Gilroy.
A 30-year-old man was charged with controlled substance for sales, possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 6:47 p.m. Dec. 23 on Church Street at Welburn Avenue in Gilroy. The suspect had 190 Norco pills, .8 grams of meth and a glass pipe.
A 23-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 4:04 p.m. Dec. 22 on Monterey Street at Bolsa Road in Gilroy.
A 50-year-old man was charged with a probation violation and possession of methamphetamine at 12:21 p.m. Dec. 17 on the 5400 block of Frazier Lake Road in Gilroy.
A 29-year-old man was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia between 7:21 and 7:24 p.m. on Rucker Avenue at Borges Court in Gilroy.
