Wet weather will continue to roll through South County for the next couple of days with a brief reprieve on Friday before more rainfall is expected in the area, according to Forecaster Duane Dykema with the National Weather Service.
“The showers are just starting to taper off now. But scattered showers will continue overnight and into tomorrow,” said Dykema at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. “It’s not going to be as much rain as we saw earlier today. But scattered showers are sticking around into Thursday night.”
Once that’s over with, the next storm system will hit South County sometime Friday evening and scattered showers will remain through the weekend, according to Dykema. Meanwhile, temperatures will hold steady with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the 40s over night.
Thus far, .84 inches of rainfall has been measured over the last 24 hours and 7.56 total this season, according to statistics supplied by the Santa Clara Valley Water District from their gauge at Anderson Reservoir.
