About 6 p.m. the Santa Clara County Fire Department dispatch center responded to a call for a fire on East Central Avenue. The blaze was located between Lancia and Serene drives, just west of U.S. 101, according to an operations secretary at the SCC Fire Department.

The fire was contained to an open field on the north side of the road. Seven fire engines responded, but all responders were cleared by about 7:30 p.m., the secretary said.

The fire did not cause any property or structure damage, and no injuries.

Calfire also responded to the blaze.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but is not under investigation.
