Football: Gavilan players pledge to four-year programs

At least two Gavilan College football players made recent commitments to four-year schools.

Rams cornerback Jeff Smith, a Gilroy High product, committed to NCAA Division II Southwestern Oklahoma State. Smith made five interceptions last season, returning two for touchdowns, on his way to All-Coast Conference honors.

Gavilan defensive lineman Armond Henderson, a Los Banos High alum, signed with NAIA Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill., and is already on campus.
