Jane Howard, executive director of the Gilroy Visitors Bureau, and Dan Ehrler, executive director of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, represent the newly formed South Santa Clara Valley Tourism Partnership before the California Travel and Tourism Commission.

Howard and Ehrler participated in the commission’s Oct. 4 media reception in San Francisco’s AT&T Park last year.

Incorporating the tagline “Gateway to the Central Coast,” the partnership has been created to bring additional visitors to south Santa Clara County. Approaching tourism from a regional perspective, the partnership showcases the numerous offerings in the area including the historic wineries of Santa Clara Valley, the 11 golf courses surrounding Gilroy and Morgan Hill and the natural beauty of South County that includes many trails.

The partnership is planning additional marketing activities including placing ads in Via and Discover magazines. Also, plans are in the works for early 2007 to participate in the annual Sunset Magazine Consumer Trade Show in Menlo Park, which attracts more than 20,000 attendees in a two-day period.
