‘Altered Reality’ comes to a close this weekend
– The Morgan Hill Photography Club and the Morgan Hill Historical Society’s gallery show at the Morgan Hill House titled “Altered Reality” ends Saturday.
The show features 41 original photographs that, through the use of computer software special effects, have been transformed into fantasy works of art. The Morgan Hill House is located at 17689 Monterey Road, and is open to the public 12 to 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Friday Night Music Series continues
– The 19th Annual Friday Night Music Series returns beginning tonight with Steve Czarnecki’s Soul Jazz Quartet. All concerts take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Community and Cultural Center at the corner of Monterey Road and Dunne Avenue.

Gav Cosmetology students offer deals
– The Gavilan College Cosmetology Department is offering a 20 percent discount on all coloring services on Wednesdays and Fridays to the general public and Gavilan staff. The discounts are offered from 10 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., color to be started no later than noon.

Concert Series at the Village Green

Space available at Sports Camp
– Space is still available for the remaining two Live Oak All-Sports Camps. All-Sports Camp No. 1 is from July 11 to 15 and All-Sports Camp No. 2 Aug. 1 to 5. The camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily and are open for ages 6 to 13.

Step right up and see the show
– For the first time in recent memory Morgan Hill will play host to a summer carnival. Next week, from July 13 to 17 American Traveling Shows brings their world class carnival to the Outdoor Sports Center at 16500 Condit Road. Attractions include spectacular rides like Kamikaze, Zipper, Tidal Wave, and the always popular Graveyard along with family friendly rides such as Tornados and Spin the Apples. More family fun can be had with the 10 midway games, music, food and drink. Hours run from 4 to 10 p.m. beginning next Wednesday to Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Romeo and Juliet – a cover band operetta
– Alphabet Arts Summer Conservatory 2011 presents Romeo and Juliet – a cover band operetta by William Shakespeare, directed by Mark Sitko. The show plays at 8 p.m. July 13 to 16, and July 18 to 21 at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, 17090 Monterey Road.

Children’s arts and crafts camp
– Young aspiring artists are invited to participate in the Fancy Nancy arts and crafts summer camp July 19 through 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. Using the Fancy Nancy Aspiring Artist book by Jane O’Connor, participants will learn about famous artists and create projects using their techniques. Each day will focus on different artists and projects.
