Due to a production error, Friday’s B3 was not printed properly. As a result, the jump for the Live Oak girls soccer story did not appear, as well as a brief about a golfer from Morgan Hill winning a tournament.
The soccer story is already available online and can be found by clicking here.
Below is the golfer brief as it should have appeared in Friday’s edition.
We have high standards here at the Morgan Hill Times and do apologize for the error.
Former MH golfer captures first win on eGolf Tour West
Making his first career start in an eGolf-sanctioned event, Erick Justesen, formally of Morgan Hill, claimed the Championship at Soboba Springs title on eGolf Tour West.
He needed three playoff holes to defeat San Diego native James Erkenbeck.
Justesen entered the final round of the 54-hole event with a two-shot lead after opening the week with rounds of 63 and 71 for an 8-under.
Through nine holes of play, Justesen held a one-shot lead over Erkenbeck, dropping his score to 9-under for the tournament.
But things went south over the subsequent two holes, as Erkenbeck landed two birdies and Justesen bogeyed the par-4 12th to fall two strokes back of the lead.
But Justesen rallied with a pair of birdies on 13 and 14 to pull even with Erkenbeck, where the score stayed after a back and forth over the next four holes.
That forced a playoff, where both golfers birdied to open the sudden death round.
After Erkenbeck hit a tee shot that wend out of bounds on the third hole, Justensen cruised in with a par putt.
