A long-anticipated break from school is soon approaching. Sophomore and juniors are waiting for the last day of school and seniors can’t wait to throw those graduations caps high in the sky. But before all of that, we have a few things planned.
Tuesday, April 6, was a busy day. An all-beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mustard cheese, and ketchup are all needed to make a delicious burger. The seniors had that opportunity this week to “get their grub on” at their first senior barecue for this year. It was a great chance to treasure the last few months we have together.
While this was going on, sophomores and juniors were preparing for the near future. They were campaigning and making their speeches in order to attain their positions in next year’s Live Oak student government.
Wouldn’t it be fun to hold a school rally outside with the nice warm rays of the sun beating down upon you. Well that’s an experience the students well have. We are planning to hold our last rally of the year outside on our new football field. This should be a great, new and fun experience.
Other events we have planned include a show where no one needs real talent. You can just pretend you can carry a tune or shake your bon bon at the Live Oak Lipscene. Senior girls can’t wait to feel like Cinderella going to the ball at Live Oak’s “One Last Dance” Senior Prom on May 15.
We have so much to look forward to, but this break is a big help. School is slowly winding down, but spring break will help us get things together. Give us time to study for AP tests or SATs, catch up in classes, straighten out college plans, or just to let it all hang out and relax. Classes start again April 19.
