Cabrillo scored three runs in the bottom of the first and that’s all it needed to top Gavilan.
The Seahawks’ snapped the Rams’ five-game win streak and handed them a 3-0 loss Tuesday in Aptos.
The best chance the Rams had to get on the board came in the top of the fourth.
Bryant Cid led off with a single, but was called out at after Tony Amaral hit into a fielder’s choice. Amaral was able to get himself safely to second, however. Erik Barron was walked two plays later, but Sean Allen flied out and both runners were stranded.
Cid led the team at the plate and went 2 for 3.
Matt Oxner got the loss despite a solid performance on the bump. He allowed three runs on five hits through eight innings of work. Oxner also struck out five and walked one.
Gavilan (22-12 overall, 14-9 in conference) is currently tied for first in the Coast South Conference with Ohlone. The Rams look to clinch the conference title when it plays it Hartnell in the regular season finale at 2:30 p.m. at home.

WV tops Gavilan
Gavilan was handed a 10-4 loss by West Valley in Saratoga in the season finale.
The Vikings led 5-0 before Gavilan got on the board. The Rams scored two runs in the top of the fourth and another in the fifth to cut the lead to 5-3.
The two teams each got another run a piece, but the Vikings shut the door on Gavilan by scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Anissa Martinez, Crissy Simpson, Samantha Parraz, Adrianna Ortega, Brittani Newman and Serenna Adame each had a hit for Gavilan. Martinez and Parraz also had an RBI.
Adame, Newman, Mari Rodriguez and Simpson all scored a run for the Rams.
Gavilan finishes the season with a 7-27 overall record, 2-14 in conference.
