Three people were injured in a traffic collision in east Morgan Hill Thursday morning.

The two-car accident happened about 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of San Pedro and Murphy avenues, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer.

A Dodge pickup truck and a Lexus crashed in the middle of the intersection, causing the truck to overturn onto its side. Police think the Dodge crashed into the side of the Lexus. The accident is under investigation.

Four San Martin residents were in the Lexus, including three juvenile passengers. The 47-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger were transported to San Jose Regional Hospital, Neumayer said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The other two juveniles were released at the scene to their parents. One was 16, but police did not know the age of the other juvenile.

The 38-year-old driver of the Dodge, a Morgan Hill resident, was transported to the same hospital with complaints of pain to his neck and back.

Police have not yet released the names of the injured.
