WRESTLING: Christopher hosts locals Saturday

LO (6-0) vs. Lick (5-1), 7 p.m. Wednesday
SAN JOSE — The Live Oak wrestling team will try to win its first league championship in 29 years Wednesday, when the West Valley Division-leading Acorns host second-place Lick at 7 p.m. in the Live Oak Gym.

The Acorns (6-0 league) are coming off a 59-20 victory at San Jose that featured wins by Sean Masters, Erik Poulsen, Amy Fearnside, Clayton Howard, Cesar Gamboa and Steven Fernandez.

If the Comets (5-1) win Wednesday, Live Oak, Pioneer and Lick will decide the league champion Saturday in the Blossom Valley Athletic League Finals tournament at Live Oak High.
